We can take 50-xx-40-xx-52 (the MAC printed on the label) as example. To make TL-WA860RE to the main router with MAC filtering on, we need put the two MAC address attached below into the whitelist: 1. 52-xx-39-xx-53. 2. 52-xx-39-xx-52 . For the devices connected to the TL-WA860RE, you need add their MAC addresses as well.
If you can't remember the login password you should reset the TL-WA860RE to its factory defaults and reconfigure: "With the extender powered on, use a pin to press the RESET button for 1 second." That's the password for TL-WA860RE web management, the factory default wireless password is printed on the label of the extender.
If you haven’t manually change the SSID of the extender, the default SSID will be the same to the main router, of add the “_EXT” in the end of the router’s SSID. For example, if the SSID of your router is “TP-Link_Router”, the default SSID of the extender would be “TP-Link_Router” or “TP-Link_Router_EXT”.
